Writing a book is difficult, but overall, an enjoyable process. The most troublesome scene usually ends up being the one that pays off the most. Re-writes and editing can take time, but in the end, the book is better for the effort. However, before the writing can begin, another task must be completed.

Prioritization

Even the word makes me yawn. I want to create art, I don't want to plan my time. But time is a writer's most precious commodity. I could write every day, and pick a different story each day, and I would never complete anything. Therefore, I must make difficult decisions about what my next project should be. Perhaps, that is where you - dear reader - come in.

While many authors write within one genre, I am cursed with a love for writing so unfocused, so completely, hopelessly romantic, that I am compelled to write in all of them. Sci-fi? YES! Horror? Definitely! I have a special place in my heart for historical fiction, as fans of my book, "Before Paradise" can attest. Fortunately, I have been writing for decades, and currently have many works in various stages of completion. So, you see? My problem is, what to concentrate on next?

Writers draw from a well filled by education and experience. The best writers have very deep wells, but it takes a considerable number of years to develop such a trove. By the time an author has the talent, the time, and the well needed to craft their best work, the sun is setting on their time in this plane, and they must prioritize carefully.

To that end, I would like your input.

  • A fantasy epic: I have recently completed a trilogy, that must be edited yet. A sweeping epic that melds magic and ancient history in to a heart-racing tale of suspense and survival.

  • Another work of Historical Fiction: I am working on another work of historical fiction set in the 1970s that sees an intrepid yet brash investigator travel half-way around the world in pursuit of a ghost, and his hostage

  • Science fiction: Set in the distant future, a group of strangers must find a way to navigate the horrors of a foreign planet when they find themselves stranded together under severely austere conditions.

You can help me prioritize and focus my time on the work you would most like to read! Utilize the CONTACT page, and let me know what kind of novel you want to see next. If it's not listed above, go ahead and share your thoughts anyway! Authors are nothing without readers, so this is my way of giving back, saying thank you, and inviting you to be a part of the process. And yes, you're helping me by making the boring stuff fun! Hope to hear from you soon!
